The MPTAAS AWAS Scholarship scheme is actually a housing assistance scheme which essentially works as a supplement to the hostel facility. Tribal students after passing their class 12th when they get admission in a regular program outside home in any government or non-government or recognized university, institution or college for graduate, post graduate or higher studies, they often do not get hostel facility. So, they have to rent a house to continue their studies, which sometimes creates difficulty from the financial side. The Tribal Affairs Department has launched the Awas Housing Assistants Scheme to overcome that problem. Through which, as financial assistance, if the students are enrolled in any educational institution at the divisional level, district level or block level then they will get a monthly housing assistance from Rs 2000 to Rs 1000 according to their level of headquarteres.

Eligibility Criteria of MPTAAS AWAS Scholarship
- Only Madhya Pradesh state students can apply for this scheme.
- Only tribal category students are eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme.
- All those students who are enrolled as a regular student in undergraduate, post graduate or higher level programs after passing class 12th are eligible to apply for this scheme.
- SC and ST girl students are also eligible to apply in this scholarship scheme.
- Applicant’s annual family income must be below Rs.6 lakh.
- If a student fails the present program’s exam, he/she will not be eligible for this scheme in the next year.
- If the location of the institute and student’s residence are same i.e. within the same geographical area, then they cannot apply.
- Applicant’s home and institution location distance must be more than 12 KM.

MPTAAS AWAS Scholarship Yojana Form Fill Up
To participate in the MPTAAS AWAS Scholarship Scheme, first of all the student has to go to the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs and Schedule Caste Welfare Automation System and complete their New Beneficiary Profile registration process. After that login with login credentials, follow the rest of the process exactly as described.
- After login, the dashboard of MPTAAS will open in front of us. Now we have to select the AWAS option. Then “Apply Application” option will show and click on it.
- In the next step the applicant has to select his admission year, admission type (Fresh / Renewal) academic year and installment number (For fresh application select 1st).
- Then you have to provide the details of the university/institution such as the name of the district in which the university is located, the date of admission and the admission enrollment number.
- After that the applicant has to give his/her previous academic details like last course name, year of passing and also upload the mark sheet of last qualified exam.
- Now the applicant has to check the declaration and proceed to the next step.
- There after the applicant has to provide the details of his permanent address like District, Location Type, Local Body Type, Block/ Panchayat, Local Body Name etc and also the applicant has to upload address proof like voter ID, driving license, ration card, electricity bill slip etc. Then click on the save option and go to the next step.
- Then the applicant has to provide the rent details of the place where he is studying Such as the district of the rented location, location type, house number, owner name, street address, monthly rental amount, etc.
- Next, the applicant has to upload the scanned copy of rent agreement or private hostel receipt. now save and continue the application.
- After that a preview page will open and in that page we have to check all the details given earlier and finally we have to select the declaration and submit it.
- In this step, the applicant should take a print out of the application and submit a copy to the institute.
